Hello all, I thought I would just give a quick update about the actual duration of my study abroad program.
So we have already all been here for 3 weeks, and honestly that went by pretty quickly, so I guess as a recommendation I would say that if you're only staying abroad for a short duration it's never too early to start looking for things to do. There are 14 of us on the program and only 6 of us will be staying in Berlin once our course ends at the end of the month, once this happens, the other 8 go back home. For the 6 of us however, we start right back up with our next class on the Monday following the completion of our last class. We will be staying in this course for the next 4 weeks. The only real change is that our teacher also goes home with the 8 students who are only on the 5 week program, so we have to find things to do for ourselves which might sound easy, but in actuality is a little difficult.
After our classes we have from 12:30 to whenever you choose to go to bed free, and that is a lot of time, and there is plenty to do in Berlin, but the main problem that I think that you will run into is money. If you choose to go out to museums and get food while out then you will start to spend a fortune. For some people this might be manageable but its just something that you have to keep in mind since you are already paying for all of the food you eat in general which I gotta say is way more expensive than I thought it was.
So I guess those are some of the things that I have learned from studying abroad so far, some specific to my actual program, but I hope that this might help you also choose to decide what to and and not to do while abroad if you find yourself doing so.
Thank you for reading!
